Let It Ride

Let It Ride has been around since the mid-1990s and is an exciting one-deck game. You are neither playing against the dealer or anyone else at the table. Rather, you're just hoping to be dealt a "qualifying" hand. The object of the game is to get at least a pair of tens or better. The better your hand, the higher the payout.

At the start of the game, you will have to make three separate bets of equal amounts (there's usually three cirles to indicate where to place each bet) of at least the table minimum. Once all bets have been placed, the dealer will deal three cards to each player including herself (the cards are shuffled and counted by the Shuffle Master machine). The dealer will then discard one of her cards and leave the two remaining cards face down.

After receiving your first three cards, each player will indicate, in turn, if they want to take back one of their bets (of the three bets, you are able to take back a maximum of two bets. One bet will always be in play). To indicate that you want your first bet back, either scratch the table with your pointer finger or with the cards somewhere close to your bet. The dealer will then push the first bet off the cirle (usually indicated by a number 1).

Once all the players have made their decision to take back their first bet or "let it ride," the dealer will turn over one of her two cards. At this point, the players decide if they want to take back their second bet or "let it ride." The first and second bets are not related (you can take back your first bet and play your second bet, vice versa, take back both bets, or let both bets ride). Again, once all the players have made their decision, the dealer will turn up the second card and the hands are over.

At this point, if you don't have a pair of tens or better the game is over for you and you lose the amount of bet(s) you have left on the table. However, if you have a pair of tens or better you will be paid out based on the payout schedule.

This is a simple game that is easy to learn.

Below is a standard payout schedule (make sure to check the payout schedule before playing as schedules vary slightly from casino to casino).

Strategies for the first bet:
Leave bet in if you have a pair of tens or better, three cards to a royal flush or straight flush, any three consecutive suited cards (5,6,7 of hearts/diamonds/clubs/spades).

Strategies for the second bet:
Leave bet in if you have a pair of tens or better, four to any flush, an outside straight draw (where a card on either end of the consecutive numbers will make a straight-5 or 10 will make a straight when holding 6,7,8, and 9, etc.), or any four high cards.
